Invitation: Transparency International EU Event - A screening of "Thank You For Smoking"
Dear friends and colleagues,
This an invitation for you to attend the inaugural screening of the Transparency International EU Anti-Corruption Film Club. This event will take place on the evening of Tuesday 8 December, where we will be showing Jason Reitmans Thank You For Smoking, an irreverent and darkly humorous take on lobbying and public affairs in the US.
The screening will be followed by a similarly irreverent
discussion of the lobbying scene here in Brussels, where we hope to separate
fact from fiction and compare trends in lobbying in the US and EU. This is the
culmination of a years intensive work on this subject, including Transparency
Internationals report on lobbying
regulation and practice around Europe and the launch of our EU Integrity Watch tool. Further practical
details below.
TI Publication - Lobbying in Europe: hidden influence ... Transparency International is the global civil society organisation leading the fight against corruption. |
The screening is part of our celebrations of International Anti-Corruption Day (December 9), and in keeping with the celebratory nature of the event refreshments, both food and drink, will be provided. For that reason we would ask you to rsvp as soon as possible but no later than Monday 7 December via this link:bit.ly/1kWLcBx
I very much hope you can join us for an evening of film, wine,
discussion and look forward to seeing you there.
