Resource Matters is a non-profit organization that aims to better understand and help overcome the contrast between a country's natural wealth and the lack of economic development of its people. It focuses mainly on industrial investments in the mining and hydroelectric sectors in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Resource Matters is looking to recruit a Director of Finance and Operations to ensure the smooth running of the organization. The successful candidate will start as soon as possible.
The position will be for a period of at least twenty-four months.

Tasks
The Director of Finance and Operations will perform the following duties :
Manage the organization's budgets and expenses
Ensure good collaboration with the accounting firm and the auditing firm
Ensure financial reporting to donors
Assist in the search for funding opportunities
Oversee the maintenance of administrative, legal and tax records
Supervise the management of human resources files
Prepare draft employment contracts, grants, partnerships and consultancy agreements
Prepare performance evaluations and support staff in their professional development
Review and improve organizational procedures and ensure their implementation
Oversee the proper logistical planning of travel, service missions, meetings and seminars (hotel reservations, flights, etc.)
The Director of Finance and Operations will be supported by the administrative and financial team in Brussels and Kinshasa (3 full time and 2 half time) and will work closely with the Executive Director of the organization.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:
Possess a degree in management, administration, finance or have acquired equivalent skills through experience
Experience working in the same field (desired)
Strong organizational and planning skills
Enthusiasm and a sense of humor (required)
Have a good command of oral and written French (required)
Have a good command of oral and written English (required)
Have a good command of common computer software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, ...)
Be flexible, versatile, proactive, able to find innovative solutions
Be rigorous, meticulous and detail-oriented
Be able to work independently
Strong communication skills, including in a multicultural context
